When I started researching this pastry. I found it quite interesting how many people had their own beliefs on how it was made. Personally, I side with the people who think they were named after a German word. This is because I found the theory for it being named after the stone of destiny seemed to be a bit of a stretch to me since most of the names for products or foods back then usually came from another word from a different language that meant something similar to their creations. So far, I’ve only tried 3 different types of scones which were cinnamon, raspberry with white chocolate and blueberry with lemon. My favourite one out of the three was the blueberry with lemon because it had the right amount of sweetness. Scones are usually made in shapes of either wedges (triangles) or circles. Although I’ve only had scones once,I would love to try more different types of scones in the future.
